Bobby was born and raised in Texas. Originally from Brownwood, TX he was raised on
classic country from a ranch family. Merle Haggard, George Jones, to George Strait and Alan
Jackson. There is no doubt his sound comes from the likes of country greats. Even with that,
Bobby still has adopted his own style to find some southern rock influences to really drive some
of his music.
Bobby starting writing at an early age and was greatly influenced by his grandfather, Emmet
Royce Larkin, who was a respected Christian singer songwriter and released “Good Morning
God” with Chapel Records in the 1960’s. Bobby learned three chords on the guitar early on just
to play a couple of Christmas songs, and of course his grandfather's song "Good Morning God".
Bobby played as a cover band while attending college in Waco, TX and while finishing his
degree in Abilene, TX. Bobby received his degree in Aviation Science and is a trained
commercial pilot, but the aviation industry just wasn't stable in the early 2000's... so Bobby took
to the road just playing music. As he built his following he began opening for such acts as John
Michael Montogmery, Tracy Lawrence, Clay Walker, David Ball and many others. Bobby
eventually began headlining his own shows in large saloons, theaters, and arenas. During this
time Bobby’s manager, Stuart Love took notice of him and pushed for a deal. Bobby landed with
Mesa-Bluemoon Records under Universal Music Group where he released his album "Gravity".
Through all of that, Bobby still took the time to serve his country. Bobby comes from a
military family with his dad being a full colonel, grandfathers both officers, and on down his
family lineage. All serving. Bobby said, "all the men in my family have served as far back as I
can trace, I didn't want to be the one to stop that legacy". Bobby joined the National Guard so
he could serve and balance his budding career in music.
The crowds grew and so did his presence on radio and TV. With an appearance on Dr Phil
discussing the band life and hardships of the road. At one point Bobby was on the road 300
days out of the year. This earned him the nickname road hound from many of his colleagues in
his music. It was a badge he wore with honor.
Bobby collaborated with Jason Mraz to recut Jason's song, "I Wont Give Up". This was
released as a single on Bobby’s album, “Gravity”. Much of this was recorded with Jason's back
ground vocalist, Grammy winning Toca Rivera at Jason's own studio in California. After the
release of his single "I Wont Give Up" and the quickness that radio was picking it up, Bobby
knew it had to be supported. Another long stint on tour would prove a push too much. Bobby
had an injury to his vocal cords that would prove detrimental to continuing at that time.
It has taken multiple years, and Bobby's former manager early on (Cowboy Troy) to get him
back in the game. Bobby and Troy wrote a song called "Twisted" and it was released and
pushed to radio in 2024. The single pushed the top 100 and Bobby has now completed his 6th
compilation record. It will be released September 19, 2025, and Bobby looks very forward to getting out there
and supporting this album!
Paying the dues. “I will never regret the road I took! Starting out, the idea of living the road band life was the last thing on my mind. After I did all the local gigs, I realized the only way for me to evolve as an artist was to hit the road. Over the next few years, I logged thousands of shows in cities across the country. My time on the road proved crucial in shaping my sound, and building the fan base that led to my record deal.”
Although Bobby does not put up the number of tour dates that he use to, Bobby continues to play requested dates, and has also turned his celebrity into a fund-raising machine. Bobby is always taking up dates at no charge to help those in need. Bobby is passionate about lifting up folks that need a hand.
Bobby continues to support the military through Wounded Warrior Homes, and other nonprofit organizations.
